Woman Who Sleeps With Ghost Reveals That She's Now Engaged To One
Love is often described as a many-splendored thing. Chance meetings lead to incredible connections all of the time - whether it's in a bar, the workplace, or, as was the case for Amethyst Realm, on holiday in Australia. But what made her romance truly unique was that her lover wasn't human - at least not anymore. She just so happened to fall in love with a ghost. Seriously.
She spiritual guidance counselor hit the headlines last year when she revealed that she'd an impressive 20 ghost lovers and said that they were much more adept in the bedroom department than actual men. Fair enough. But her days of fooling around came to an end when she met "Ray" and they recently appeared on This Morning to announce their engagement.
To discover how Ray proposed to his human bride, check out the video below:
When Amethyst revealed that Ray was with her on the show, host Phillip Schofield said, "Well, Ray it's a pleasure to meet you. Obviously, we couldn't do a research chat with Ray, not able to ask him any... can I ask him a question?"
The spiritual counselor then told Schofield that she could quiz her fiancé about their relationship, and, incredibly, with a straight face, the This Morning host asked, "What was it about Amethyst that made you fall in love, Ray?"
She then relayed: "He just said our connection, as soon as we met, we kind of just felt a connection there - it was really strong."
While most of us spend a long time getting to know a partner before we consider marriage, Amethyst revealed that she knows little about Ray's past: "I don't know much about his past, it feels like he's very ancient, very wise, been around for a long time."
And although Amethyst might seem a little nutty to most, it turns out that she's far from the first person to get hitched to a ghost. Earlier this year, a Jack Sparrow impersonator revealed that she'd married the 300-year-old ghost of a Haitian pirate.
Despite the fact that Amethyst and Ray have decided to spend the rest of their lives (well, death, in his case) together, she was reluctant to discuss the possibility of them having children because she doesn't want to scare him off.
"I know in my heart that he's the one for me," Amethyst said of Ray in an interview with The Sun. "We're soulmates, meant for each other, and that'll never change. The fact that he's a spirit is by the by."
We'd like to take this opportunity to wish the happy couple all the best - hopefully, Schofield will get an invite to their wedding!
